After volunteering as a medical interpreter for the 2008 mission to Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong, I realized the potential that the VNMAP program has for growth. The program is unique in that it provides medical care to unfortunate individuals while simultaneously giving our future physicians the opportunity to practice and gain experience in primary healthcare. My decision to become the treasurer for the 2009 mission is inspired by the desire to expand this program and give future participants the same outstanding experience that I had during the past mission.

As treasurer, I will keep clear financial records, maintain a list of our donors and update them on VNMAP activities, and help to procure several sources of financial aid for the mission. Along with fulfilling my responsibilities to VNMAP, I also work as an optometric technician while pursuing a bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland.
