Biography:

Dr. Le received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York in 1988. He completed his internship and residency at Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins Internal Medicine Program in 1991. He conducted his Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship training at the Medical College of Virginia where he received extensive training in Hepatology and therapeutic/Interventional endoscopy. After training, he returned to Baltimore where he has been a partner at Woodholme Gastroenterology and Hepatology Associates PA since 1993. His main interests are Hepatitis B and therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Le is board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is a former Chairman and Director of Endoscopy at Harbor Hospital of Baltimore from 1998- 2006. He holds the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at the University of Maryland where he is active in teaching medical students and medical residents. As a teaching faculty at Sinai and Harbor Hospital, he received the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award twice in 1996 and 1998.

Dr. Le is also a consultant and a speaker for BMS and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. He is an active member of Asian Health Foundation, American College of Gastroenterology, and American College of Physicians.

Statement:

It has been an inspiring experience for me to witness the excitement, dedication and enthusiasm of the members of the Viet Nam Medical Assistance Program (VNMAP) in carrying out their noble missions. I really appreciate the passion, high work ethic and strong commitment of the young colleagues towards the Vietnamese community.

Therefore, it is an honor for me to be a member of the board of directors. I am committed to make sure that VNMAP not only bind strongly to its mission, values and beliefs, but also gain strong credibility to continue its mission to help the Vietnamese community in Viet Nam and in the U.S. I am dedicated to work closely with the members of VNMAP for many years to come.
